Pompeii

The archaeological excavations of Pompeii are the third most visited site in Italy for the magnificence and state of conservation of its historical evidence.

The ancient Pompeii, in fact, represents the imperial historical period of the ancient Romans, with their splendour and their ingenuity in the organisation and management of the cities of the empire.

What remains today is the result of the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D., which literally covered the city of Pompeii with lava and ashes.

You can get to the excavations of Pompeii with a private car directly from Marina di Nerano, or you can get to the port of Castellammare di Stabia by water taxi and reserve only a short distance of transport by land.
